New Haven expected to get state funds to complete a neighborhood Childcare and Training Center
The Greater Dwight Development Corporation in New Haven will receive a $1.117 million state grant to help finance the Dwight Community Child Care and Office/Training Project.
The plan was announced by Governor John Rowland, and is slated to be approved Approval at the State Bond Commission meeting May 28.
Funds will assist in the completion of a $2.3 million neighborhood project to construct a building with a child care center for approximately 60 children, from birth to five years old, and training classrooms for neighborhood residents.
The proposal advances critical goals of The Greater Dwight Development Corporation, including providing quality early education and care for sixty children under five years
old.
